Rules

Short version:
  1. Floorball is played indoors on a rink (size 40 x 20 meters, 131-x 65 ft).
  2. A 50-cm (20") high board surrounds the rink.
  3. The goal cages are 160 cm high x 115 cm wide (45" x 63").
  4. The game time is 3 x 20 minutes, with 10-minute intermissions between periods.
  5. 1 goaltender, without a stick and 5 field players per team are allowed on the rink at any one time or 6 field players with NO goaltender. A team is allowed to use 20 players in a match.
  6. The stick is made of a synthetic material.
  7. The ball is made of a plastic material, and weighs 23 grams.
  8. You are not allowed to:
    - hold, check, block or trip an opponent,
    - hit, block, lift, push down or kick an opponents stick,
    - hit the ball with the stick or foot above knee level,
    - lift the stick above waist height,
    - kick the ball twice.
    - touch ball with hand
    - jump up to reach ball
    - passing stick between players legs
    - play if body parts, other than feet, come in contact with floor.
